The house is on a private estate set in the Chiltern Hills. The main house is approached through mature beech woods and lies at the head of a gently sloping, south facing valley.
A dramatic axial sequence of spaces link the entrance hall to the principal reception rooms via a covered central courtyard. Guest bedrooms face onto a sunken garden.
The simple axial configuration of the house means that the house is legible, and creates a tremendous sense of space, whilst the graceful curve of the roof acts as a unifying feature.
