Brewery Square

Clerkenwell
Berkeley Homes
Exterior facade

DESCRIPTION

An award winning high density residential scheme on a large former brewery site. The project is big enough to create it’s own urban environment with shops and offices at ground floor opening on to a series of public spaces. 198 apartments are arranged in four blocks sitting on top of the retail podiums, linked at the upper levels to form bridges across the public routes.

The architecture reflects the industrial heritage of the site with its simple forms and use of zinc and copper cladding together with cobblestone paving in the public spaces. Projecting glass boxes cantilever out over St John Street creating animation on the facades.
